London: ”Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading the way in transforming ‘Education in One Generation’ towards inclusive and quality education in Bangladesh”, said Dr. Dipu Moni, Bangladesh Education Minister at the Education World Forum in London on 21 January 2020. She also said that Bangladesh has, to its strength, its Constitutional commitment, political will and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, all of which are key to ensuring inclusive and quality education in Bangladesh.
Dr. Dipu Moni also attended a High-level Roundtable with Chris Skidmore MP, UK Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, where she emphasized onresearch, innovation, English learning, TVET for skills development and global collaboration in education in achieving the sustainable development goals. Bangladesh Education Minister made a presentation highlighting Bangladesh’s achievements on gender parity in Primary and Secondary Education over the past decade.
The Education Minister also had interactions with her counter-part in the UK Gavin Williamson CBE MP andNick Gibb MP, UK Minister of State for School Standards. Bangladesh State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md. Zakir Hossain, accompanied the Education Minister in the Education World Forum.
Education World Forum is the largest gathering of Education Ministers, where Education Ministers from 128 countries gathered this year from 20-22 January 2020 in London. Earlier, Dr. Dipu Moni also attended a Commonwealth Education Ministers meet.
