Londonঃ A delegation from the UK based human rights organisation Campaign for the Protection of Religious Minority in Bangladesh (CPRMB) met the Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Presidium Member of Awami League, Mr H T Imam on 9 February at Prime Minister’s Secretariat in Tejgaon.
The CPRMB delegation raised the issue of implementation of Minority Ministry as per the last general election commitment. They also expressed their concern at forced conversion of Hindus at various Islamic Mehfils and effect of CAA and NRC implementation in India.Mr H T Imam said he would convey their concerns to the government and agreed to attend a seminar being organised by the CPRMB in the UK Parliament this year.
Following the meeting with Mr H T Imam the delegation then went onto visit Dhakeshwari temple and had a meeting there with the Hindu and minority leaders of various organisations. Those who attended the meeting were Mr Kajol Debnath, Advisor to BHBCUC Central Office, Mr Swapan Saha, President Jaganath Hall Alumni, Mr. Dipen Chatterjee, Ex-President of Mohanagar Puja Committee, Mr. Sailen Mazumdar current President of Mahanagar Puja Committee and Mr. Joyanta Sen Dipu, Ex-President Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad. In addition, CPRMB had a brief discussion with Mr. Kanutosh Mazumdar, Ex-President of JHAA.
