As a result of Bengali language movement today Martyrs Day is also observed as International Mother Language Day by UNESCO across the globe making us prod of our nation said guests at Martyrs Day event organised by news portal Bisshobanglanews24.com.
Chaired by Bisshobangla’s advisor Goyas Ahmed Chowdhury and conducted by its Editor Shah Mustafizur Rahman Belal Guest of honour was Cllr Khales Uddin Ahmed, Speaker of London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The event was held on 20 February in its office premises at the Montefiore Centre, East London.
Other guests present were journalists Ansar Ahmed Ullah, Matiar Chowdhury & SATV’s CEO Shirin Ahmed Samantha. A Crest was presented to the Speaker for upholding Bengali culture in Tower Hamlets.
Speakers journalist Ahad Chowdhury Babu, media activist Jamal Khan, politician Azizul Haq, activist Batirul Sardar, SATV’s Hefazul Karim Rakib, Ch I’s Kawsar Khijir, Shah Akikur Rahman Mizan, Mostak Ahmed, Ruhul Amin amongst others spoke on the importance of language movement and its relevance for young people to connect with their heritage.
