London: Quilliam International’s Muna Adil launched a new report on the Rohingya titled ‘The Rise of Religious Nationalism, Intolerance and Persecution in Burma’ at the House of Commons on 25 April. The event was hosted by MP Paul Scully and was organised in association with Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
The launch had line-up of speakers including Benedict Rogers (Christian Solidarity Worldwide), Mark Farmaner (Burma Campaign UK), and Ronan Lee (Academic & Political Commentator).
Mark Farmaner, Director of Burma Campaign UK said, “There have been many reports written on Burma but there’s no other report like this that presents the extent of the situation in such an accessible way.
The report was produced by Quilliam International in association with Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a human rights organisation which focuses on defending the right to freedom of religion or belief. With the joint report, Quilliam hope to shed light on the critical human rights violations in Burma, an issue that Quilliam believes has been underserved in the global political sphere.
