UK Awami League hosts Iftar Mahfil

London: An Iftar Mahfil hosted by the UK Awami League was held on Monday 21st May at the Mumbai Square restaurant in Middlesex Street, East London.

The Iftar was held mainly for guests and well wishers of Awami League. It was notable to see the presence of almost all newly elected Bengali councillors from across London boroughs and journalist from all the press including London Bangla Press Club & UK Bangla press Club at the event.

Prior to breaking of fast a number of dignitaries spoke briefly highlighting the importance of fasting and its benefit. Among the guests who addressed the Iftar gathering were Sanjida Khanam MP, Shamim Mohammed Afzal. Director General, Islamic Foundation, Advocate Mosharraf Hossain Kajol, Public Prosecutor, Anti-Corruption Commission, Dr khizir Hayat Khan, Director, Islamic Foundation and Councillors.

Moulana Dr Syed Irshad Ahmed Al Bukhari, International Islamic scholar, Director General, Islamic Research Centre Dinajpur prayed for the welfare of all humankind including Muslims of Bangladesh and the global Muslim diaspora.
Guests were greeted and received by UK Awami League President Sultan Shariff and General Secretary Syed Shazidur Rahman Faruk.
