Bangladesh High Commission in London hosts grand reception for Tigers

London: Bangladesh High Commission in London on Thursday hosted a brand reception in honour of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team to the ICC World Cup 2019 and to celebrate the Bangladesh-UK Friendship at the Crease.

Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam and Minister for International Relations and the Welsh Language Eluned Morgan were the Guests of Honour at the reception held at the picture-squire National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff.

High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the United Kingdom Saida Muna Tasneem welcomed the members of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and other distinguished guests and gave the welcome speech.

Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services Julie Morgan, President of Bangladesh Cricket Council Noim Uddin Riaz and representative of UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Fergus Auld addressed the event, greeting the Bangladesh Cricket Team. Tiger’s captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud also spoke on the occasion.

9F966FF2-B8FB-4F01-A493-E08AD8D2ABA6More than a dozens of UK parliament members, Cardiff Mayor Dan De’Ath and Councillor Dilwar Ali, UK foreign office representatives, councilors of Wales, cricketing professionals and dignitaries from UK and Bangladesh-British communities attended the event.

The reception commenced with the national anthems of Bangladesh, Wales and UK followed by a dance performance of a group of artistes from Bangladesh-British Community dedicated to the Bangladesh Cricket Team and the World Cup 2019.  A duet of siter and tabla created a great ambience at the reception.
