London: Ramadan is one of the most important month for the Muslim world. The month of fasting is intended to teach Muslims patience, self-control and to strengthen one’s faith said guests at an Iftar Mahfil held on Wednesday, 5th Ramadan, 31 May at the historical Brick Lane Mosque.
Prior to breaking of Fast a brief discussion chaired by Sajjad Miah and conducted by Haylal Uddin Ali took place in the mosque’s conference room. Guests Rushanara Ali MP, Tower Hamlets Mayor John Biggs & Bangladesh High Commissioner Nazmun Quaunine amongst others said following Brexit and the recent Manchester attack Muslims in Britain are facing new challenges. They added but as Muslims we must play our part in Britain and there was no conflict in being a Muslim and British. The discussion ended with a prayer by Moulana Nazrul Islam.
