CPRMB mourns the loss of its president Devashish Das

London: The president of the Campaign for the Protection of Religious Minorities in Bangladesh (CPRMB) Mr Devashish Das passed away on 30 December 2020 at Queens Hospital, Romford, Essex. He was suffering from Coronavirus. Devashish Das was actively involved in human rights activism and social activities both in the UK and abroad. He was a trustee of Hindu Aid, advisor of Sarbojonin Lokhnath Baba Association (SBLA), Lokhnath Bhokto Parishad and other organisations. Devashish Das participated actively in seminars in the UK and European Parliament highlighting the persecution of religious minorities in Bangladesh. Soon after his death, a condolence meeting was organised, bringing together members of the community to pay respect to Devashish Das. Mr Ajit Saha coordinated the meeting.
Devashish Das leaves behind his wife, two sons, friends and community members bereaving his death. His funeral will be held at a later date. Mr Ajit Saha, Secretary of CPRMB, conveys thanks to the community for coming forward in respect and supporting the family at this difficult time.
CPRMB is also saddened to hear of the death of Mr Probal Kanti Chowdhuri, father-in-law of Mr Palash Ghosh, a member of Hindu Aid. CPRMB members pray for the departed soul and hope God will give enough strength and peace to the family to overcome this difficult time. Mr Chowdhuri also sadly died from coronavirus.
