Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib, an EC Member of BBCA, emerged as the champion in the Open Section, scoring 6 points out of 7. Organising Secretary Imran Ali secured the runners-up position with 5.5 points. In the Under 2000 section, BBCA President Tariq Khan became the champion with 6 points out of 7, while EC Member Hassan Mugalu claimed the runners-up position with 5.5 points.

A total of 15 BBCA members participated in the rapid tournament, with four others competing in different categories. The club’s performance has sent a strong message in the chess community. With this momentum, BBCA is eyeing the upcoming 2025-26 season of the London Chess League, aiming to become champions in Div 3 and Div 4.

To achieve this target, BBCA has drawn up a training programme to improve members’ chess skills and tactics. A monthly training camp hosted by GM Enamul Hossain Razib is currently underway, attracting interested chess players from Greater London and beyond.

Cheerful BBCA Squad.

BBCA expressed its gratitude to Mesba Ahmed MBE of London Tigers for sponsoring return train tickets for participants. The club, established 10 years ago by Bangladeshi expatriate chess players, has grown into a diverse chess hub with members from various cultural backgrounds and nationalities.

BBCA remains open every Sunday from 3 to 7 pm for practice and friendly games. Newcomers are welcome to attend four or five Sundays without membership. Yearly membership subscription is £20, offering unlimited tea, coffee, and snacks.
