Heart breaking farewell to CPRMB president Devasish Das

London: The funeral of Devasish Das, President of Campaign for the Protection of Religious Minorities in Bangladesh (CPRMB) took place at East London Crematorium Manor Park on 18 January 2021. Mr Devashish Das passed away on 30 December 2020 at Queens Hospital, Romford, Essex. He was suffering from Coronavirus. Devashish Das was actively involved in human rights activism and social activities both in the UK and abroad. Many members of the community joined in the ceremony through online platforms. Dr Biswajit Roy, Mr Sujoy Saha and Mr Devjyoti Das, son of Devashish Das, spoke at the funeral.

Dr Satipada Das sang a Tagore song to pay final respects to the departed. The community organisation Bangladesh Hindu Association, CPRMB, Hindu Aid and Sarbojonin Lokhnath Baba Association (SBLA) laid wreaths as a mark of respect. Music Academy Suraloy and other organisation paid respects with flowers at the funeral.
