Hindu Aid UK expands humanitarian support across South Asia and responds to Venezuela earthquake

London: Hindu Aid UK has announced fresh humanitarian activities spanning healthcare support, education, emergency relief and livelihood rehabilitation in Bangladesh, alongside an international emergency response following earthquakes in Venezuela.

Guided by its founding motto, “Serving Mankind is Serving God,” the charity says its work combines immediate assistance with longer-term community development through partnerships with local organisations and volunteers.

Hindu Aid UK reported that it has continued to provide direct financial aid to patients and families facing severe medical emergencies. The support has recently helped individuals recovering from brain tumours, after serious road traffic accidents, and for neurological injuries.

In Bangladesh, the charity completed an educational initiative on 26 June 2026 in Rangamati, conducted with the partner organisation Sanatan Jubo Parishad.

The event distributed learning materials, including pens, notebooks, and other essential supplies to 30 orphaned and underprivileged students. Around 100 students, parents, teachers and community leaders attended, and Hindu Aid UK Trustee Anupam Saha (FCCA) joined as a special guest to reaffirm the charity’s commitment.

A further programme took place on 3 July 2026 at Amritangon, Barishal, with Sanatani Vidyarthi Sangsad.

The event featured a cultural opening including a Bhagavad Gita recitation and a devotional bhajan, with Miss Shuchishmita Maitra, Youth Coordinator of Hindu Aid UK and a Ph.D. student at the University of Oxford, performing alongside a guitar accompaniment.

Hindu Aid UK said it supported 16 vulnerable families with emergency food ration packs (rice, onions, lentils, and household essentials), 2 families with business stock and supplies to sustain existing small enterprises and 1 family with a sewing machine, intended to help establish a reliable, long-term income source.

Meanwhile, following severe earthquakes in Venezuela, Hindu Aid UK launched an Emergency Appeal to raise funds for urgent needs.

Reported support included provisions for clean drinking water, food, temporary shelter, medical care and other general emergency relief.

Hindu Aid UK emphasised that while it responds to crises immediately, it also focuses on sustainable development through education, empowerment and livelihood rehabilitation. The charity said it works through collaboration with local grassroots partners, volunteers, donors and community leadership.

Youth coordinator Shuchishmita Maitra stated that the organisation aims to help restore dignity, empower communities and create sustainable opportunities for vulnerable families through compassion and selfless service.

Looking ahead, Hindu Aid UK said it plans to expand its global humanitarian programmes by strengthening partner networks in both the UK and internationally.
